Belinda’s Hairdresser has been a well-known part of the Embassy precinct, where many in Maryborough have come for a trusted cut, a chat, and a friendly face. Belinda began her apprenticeship in this very shop before going on to build a respected career as a hairdresser in Maryborough for more than 30 years, with the past several years spent back here at 78 Ellena Street.
Belinda is continuing her hairdressing services and has now relocated her business to Boonooroo. We wish her every success in this next chapter and thank her for her ongoing dedication to the community she has supported for decades. This address also carries memories from an earlier time. Many locals will remember when this location was a popular candy shop serving patrons of the Embassy Theatre. Across generations, from sweet treats to fresh new looks, this space has played a part in many family routines and local stories.
Central Entertainment Group is excited to share that we have now acquired this location as part of the Embassy Theatre Reunification Project, reconnecting the buildings and shopfronts that have historically supported and surrounded the theatre.
As we plan for the future of this site, we want to take a moment to reflect on everything it has meant to Maryborough. If you have memories connected to this space — whether from the salon or from the lolly shop years — we welcome you to share them so they remain a valued part of the Embassy’s history.
