Craftsmanship in Action at Kings Café

We are happy to report that progress is steadily continuing at the Kings Café, with the team from Cardwell Constructions installing the missing sections of skirt, the new dado rail, stair balustrade, and replicated French doors that were manufactured by J.F. White & Sons of Maryborough. We think they look great!

Celebrating Community and a New Chapter for a Familiar Local Space

After many years of service to the community, Belinda’s Hairdresser has moved on from 78 Ellena Street. Central Entertainment Group has now acquired the space and, as part of the Embassy Theatre Reunification Project, is inviting locals to share their stories and memories connected to this much-loved location.

The Embassy’s restoration is bringing hidden details back to light. With the lobby’s suspended ceiling removed, its original height and ornate plasterwork are once again visible, showcasing both Deco grandeur and French provincial flair.

Lost Tiles, Hidden Stories

Tile fragments, water pipes, and traces of fire have resurfaced during works at the Central Hotel. Inside, the Kadies and Ladies Lounges reveal stencilled decoration and parquetry floors that echo the hotel’s lively past.
